Questions About the Campaign
Police across Perth County receive more than 600 calls each year related to intimate partner violence. The numbers of incidents are increasing, and we cannot ignore what is happening in our community. Education is key. The Not ok. campaign is making the invisible signs of intimate partner violence visible by helping everyone learn the signs and what to do.
You can get involved in different ways. This is a community movement so we need champions who can help spread the word.
- You can request campaign materials to make the campaign visible in your workplace.
- You can tell others about the campaign through your own social networks.
- You can become a volunteer by distribute campaign materials to the places to visit.
- You can take the Neighbours, Friends & Families online course to know more about the signs and how you can help.
- You can print a poster at home and put it in your window to show your support.
We are asking all workplaces to request the campaign materials to put up in their place of business. Here’s what you can do:
- Request a workplace package.
- Put the campaign materials up in areas where there are employees, visitors, or customers.
- Take the free online Make it Our Business training.
- Request Optimism Place to provide training to your workplace and expert advice on your policies and procedures.
- Review your workplace violence policy to ensure it includes the recognition and response related to intimate partner violence, and that staff know how to respond safely.
